Katie Caldwell question for runners:...
Track and share your training!
Dailymile makes it easy to keep track of your workouts. Map your routes and share with a community of active people.
Question for runners: I took 3 weeks off completing a long run (but still ran every day) because of my trip home. Is it ok to resume where I left off? My last long run was 13 miles - can I pick right back up at 14, or do I need to re-build again? Help? Fanx. :)

Listen to your body. I personally would do maybe 8 or 9 miles then try the 14 the following week. I tend to follow the 10% rule though mostly b/c I don't want an injury.

Katie I am pretty conservative so I would drop it back down to 8, see how it goes and build from there.

I'm agreeing with Henry and Greg. I'd see how a 8 or 9 miler feels and pick it up to a slow 14 the week after.
