I know the course so well and I ran it last year, so I went into it expecting to do either slightly better than last year or slightly worse.

I blew my last year's finish time [which at the time served as my PR of 1:52] outta the water - with a 1:49:40 finish!! Granted, at mile 7 and at mile 11, I was running outta steam, but I knew the finish was right around the corner [literally!] and had to kick it into high gear.

I think the secret is good tunes on my iPod, which I've been meaning to update for ages now. Also, I need to kick my training up a few notches - 25 weeks to go before the SF Marathon!!!
