Slow run today. I am having pain in the back of my knee and it isn't going away. Not enough to alarm me, but enough for me to pay very close attention to my stride. Reading Chi Running right now and hoping I can get some pointers through it.

Nice run Kim - yes it was amazing this AM. Hope all is well with your knee.

yea, be careful thts not a good place to be sore. Maybe your hamstrings are tight? I occasionally had tht happen but not sure why. I would rest it.

Krissie, it is off and on and believe it or not I believe I am getting it through sleeping. I wake up sometimes and my leg is so straight that it aches and the pain wakes me up. Then I feel it when I wake up. May have to sleep with a knee brace?? Not sure why I am sleeping like that lately.

Hey Kim-is the pain underneath the kneecap? front or side ?

Chris, it is in the back of the leg, behind the knee so not the knee itself, but the tender tendon on the other side of it.

Wonder if it might help to put a pillow under your knee when you sleep, keep it from straightening?

ah, interesting. If it persists, you should get it looked at. I wish you well with it.

Will do Chris. I follow a blog of an ultra runner and she has the same back of knee problems that have caused her to have to go to physical therapy and rest so I know how serious it can be if you don't listen to your body. That is why you see so much more cross training lately. I really have to get a brace for the leg though for sleeping as I am straightening the leg so much wile sleeping it buckles up which is causing this I am almost convinced. Weird

Hope it's not serious Kim... A good friend of mine used to have serious knee issues until he took up Chi Running. Good luck!
