First marathon finished!! We kept the pace at a solid 10:18 to 10:30 most of the way (sometimes faster), but started taking more walk breaks when Ken's hip acted up.
Those last six miles were like a whole different world, but surprisingly fun. The hardest bit for me was between 17 and 20. Those three miles felt longer than the rest of the marathon. Once I got to 20, though, I just kept plugging away. Lots of walking the last mile because I had *nothing* left in the tanks (but my spirits were high), and I managed to kick it to the end for the last .2. My calf was almost entirely pain free for the entire race.
I also finished as Baba O'Riley was playing on my iPod, which was as perfect a finish as I could ask for. Thank you all for you support and encouragement!!

Alright, Kaeti, way to go! Congratulations! Time now for the Pancakes of Honor.

Glad your calf didn't bother you. That last mile had another hill in it; I wouldn't have been limping, not just walking. Was glad you could kick it to the end in the last .2. A strong finish is a great thing! You've inspired a lot of people to keep at it!
Congratulations!

So glad I wasn't the only one walking at the end, only to put on a good show for the last 0.2. Had to make it look good for the cameras! Congrats!
