  1. alrightCapitol 9 mi / 01:34 10:26 pace

I had to lie to myself continually to finish this run ("You only have to do 5/6/7/8"), but I made it! Also, I ran way faster than normal because I wanted to get it over with. There are many roads to progress . . .

wow, nice run. I totally know what you mean with the continual lying to yourself :)

Ha! Nice run, and as long as you're crying in your hotel room, it pretty much didn't happen, right? Glad you're having a kick-ass time at sxsw!

  2. greatCapitol 2 mi / 00:20 10:00 pace

Ran 4 hill repeats and then around the capitol building for a bit. It's so beautiful here!

  3. Sat on an airplane for 4 hours and felt nauseous. Saving my hill repeats for tomorrow morning (there's a great/scary hill right outside my hotel).

  4. alrightTreadmill 3 mi / 00:35 11:39 pace

4x800m intervals (Yassos) plus warm up and cool down. Also did 3 bench press sets and core work. My right calf was a bit twingey at the beginning but feels OK now.

  5. Are any other dailymilers going to sxsw (or know Austin)? I have a 9 mile run on the books but don't know the city at all.

You can get in a great 9 mile run around Town Lake. It's a very popular running route - http://bit.ly/diT4Oj

If you want trails, the Greenbelt near Barton Springs is really fun. Also, make sure to stop at the Salt Lick for good BBQ! :)

I was going to suggest Town Lake..I think that would be your best bet.

This was the hardest run evah -- I really should have taken my rest day yesterday. But it's done! Hooray!

  7. goodE. River Road 2 mi

Run/walk along the river (it was too nice not to go out). Best part: A guy ran past me BAREFOOT. Forty degrees is not *that* warm!

    • Renee B. Renee B.

Today was nice. I can't even do shorts in 40's degrees! Nice run.

Ha! Incline of doom. I could make so many nerdy LOTR jokes right now. Hills are hard and stuff. Nice work!

  9. alrightTreadmill 2.5 mi / 00:25 10:00 pace

HIIT with 8 x 1 minute intervals (45 second rest). The first four were harder than the last four, I think because of the music. Also did some core work, bench press and rows.

Nice workout, Kaeti! I like the name Gary for a Garmin. :)

  10. goodLakes 7 mi / 01:18 11:08 pace

Ran with a new group, so we took this a bit faster than the past couple of weeks (and faster than I would have liked... :). Felt good mostly. I think the hills and HIIT workouts are really helping with these long runs — they've been getting progressi... read more
