Yay! Gettin' 'er done. That's the biggest part of running, right? You gotta show up! It's really nice that you have someone around to help push you if you're feeling like bailing. Sounds like your boss is aces! :)

One more from today's hike to Cameron Falls that wouldn't load earlier for some reason - I love the caribou moss and the cabbage lichen that grows on the Canadian Shield.

Shots from my hike to Cameron Falls today - it was a gorgeous day and I had the place almost all to myself.

Alright, here's the straight poop: Running should NOT be easy. It's NEVER easy. If you're thinking it's easy, tell me how *easy* it felt when you BQed a few years ago, was that *easy*? Hell no. It was hard. But you did it, right? You did. I saw you. Was it easy any time you've left the house in -40C weather to go for a run? No, it wasn't. It damn sucked, but you did it anyway. Running ain't easy. You're forgetting that, somehow, maybe because you *want* it to be easy, but it's not!

So true, Marina. It has so much to do with how we "imprint" on a place, I think ... I started my nursing career here (well, in the small communities) in the 90's and the north has always held a special place in my heart. Thanks for the love. xo

I didn't mean to make you cry! I just wanted to encourage you because you're a damn badass woman and you can totally get over this hump. Give yourself some time to adjust to coming back here. We've got an Ottawa sign now, you'll hardly recognize the place. ;) hugs.

I don't mind miles either. It's feet, inches and eighths of inches I can't get my head round. And why can't a yard be the same length as a metre?
