First run with my new gloves. Flashlight worked miracles. My son calls them my Ironman/Tony Stark gloves.

RUN
good 3 mi 00:37 12:22 pace
First run of the new year. Hoping for a full year of being healthy and a half marathon.

I hate being sick. But, I hate even more is getting my mile times down to where I want them then having to do nothing but lay around for several weeks.
-
Looks like some higher power decided my 1/2 marathon for me. No go. Just got back from dr with an ear infection and pneumonia. Told me to take at least a month off from running. Beyond pissed. July... read more

I'd strongly consider the Shamrock Half in March. You'd be able to get a nice base built in the fall/early winter, "officially" train in January/February. It's a great first-time half. Flat and cool temperatures. And free beer.
I hope you get better soon!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I know you were really looking forward to the fall races, but David's right.....a March 1/2 marathon would be great. I've always wanted to run the Shamrock.....it sounds like a lot of fun. I hope you are feeling better SOON! While you're healing, some motorcycle therapy might be in order!

I think I set the bar to high for milage at myrtle beach. Heat index is well over 110. Will just adopt the philosophy of "do my best and forget the rest.".

RUN
4 mi 00:41 10:21 pace
Great run! First two miles were a lot faster than I am used to. Not to hot this morning. Occasional breeze really helped. Taking the next two days off to go camping.

Nice run Jeff. No breeze on my side of the mountain today.

According to the radar the storms (if we get any) should be out of the area by the time I had planned to run. #Yippie
1 person liked what Jeff said-
Quick check of the radar before leaving the house shows another yellow/red blob moving my way. Looks like it will have to wait another day...
