good wine is the answer! 6 mi

I know that with my recent and rare posts on the daily mile, I have expressed how unhappy I am with my state of fatigue and inability to keep up with any sort of weekly milage (last week I didn't even break 5 miles). And with no understanding of why, there has been WHINE in my tone :-( But last night, I had WINE in my body and I woke up a new gal! Is there a correlation? There just might be...

It wasn't my intent to have any thing to drink last night, as I still haven't desired to have a glass in weeks. But I opened up a bottle to use some in a recipe and I decided to try a sip. And, well, I kind of liked it. Then I kind of had another glass or two :-)

A crazy thing happened. This morning I was wide awake at 4am (without the alarm) and out the door around 5 for a great 6 miles! I even managed a bit of a progressive finish. This wasn't anything speedy, but I didn't feel that it was complete drudgery as I was running through the neighborhood. And with the early morning outing, I took much joy watching the rising sun paint magnificent colors on the clouds.

When I came back, I knocked out ab-ripper X, 25 push ups, and 4 pull-ups. I am not sure if I will be completely worthless for the rest of the day. But this early morning milage was a welcome surprise to my weeks of blah.

yay for wine! I think??

The blahs can disappear as quickly as they arrive. Whether the wine helped or was just a nice coincidence, I'm glad to see you got some quality feel-good miles in, Jo! Hopefully a good sign of things to come...

Not sure what the question is, but wine is generally a pretty good answer, yes! :) Great workout Joanna

I've done the same and been able to rock out a good run after a night of embibing. Not worth focusing on whether it's right or not ...better to focus on the good vibes that came after this nice run. Hope you aren't worthless this afternoon Joanna.

Wine is a good thing. So is coffee and friends. I've been MIA for a while too and you know what? We're both still athletes and runners. It comes back. :)

Hmmm? I may have to try that when I am feeling unmotivated! Whatever it is, I hope it keeps working for you.
