Hills are hard! But I love my new Garmin! And it was a beautiful day for a run.

Just bought myself my reward for running through Dec, Jan, and Feb...a Garmin 910XT. Can't wait to try it this afternoon! Of course, that means I have to start biking and swimming this summer... read more

alright TM--Keystone Resort, CO 2 mi 00:22 10:54 pace
Altitude training in the mountains. Only had time to squeeze in two easy miles, but 2 miles at 11,000 ft is like 6 miles at sea level, right? ;-)
-
Never have run at that altitude, so I'll have to take your word for it. 6 miles it is.

Mt. Evan's Ascent: America's Highest Road Race!
"Although the air will be noticeably thin at the starting line, Echo Lake's 10,600 feet of elevation is just the beginning. The climb totals nearly 4,000 vertical feet - much of it above treeline - as you make your way 14.5 miles to the finish line located at the summit of one of the most recognizable peaks on Denver's mountain skyline - 14,264 foot Mt. Evans."

That sounds like a beautiful, but tough, race Ruth! My co-worker is running a marathon this weekend that goes to the top of a mountain in CO and back down. Craziness!

Blech! Just ran 3 miles on a treadmill in a tiny hotel fitness room (it actually had a sign in it that said "Capacity 5") next to an indoor pool, with no ventilation or AC. It was about... read more

blah Crossings-"speed" workout 4 mi
Yikes! Jim is going to have so much fun whipping my butt into shape this summer. Attempted 1/4 mi repeats (6 reps). My legs only move at one speed. Lots of work to do.
-
Keep at it! I don't think I've attempted speed work since Jims last session.

Easy, very slow jog. My ankle keeps stiffening up, so I'm not risking anything right now.
-
You're smart to go easy right now and let your ankle heal up. Hope it feels better soon.

I agree with Steve's good advice to go easy on the ankle to let it heal...especially if you want to be able to have some fun at the St Pete's 1/2 without injury. Good luck!

Took 5 days off to rest my foot--worried I might have a stress fracture. But it felt good today. Will try the 10 miler tomorrow and see how it feels.

Nice Job:
Take it easy on your ankle and you should be fine tomorrow. I will do the 10-mile winter series as well. Good luck tomorrow.

Nikki-it's so much fun! It's basically a big dance party (there were 100 people in my class today). But you have to be willing to be silly and not care how you look while dancing. I like it because I burn as many calories in an hour class as I do running 5 mi.
