Altitude training in the mountains. Only had time to squeeze in two easy miles, but 2 miles at 11,000 ft is like 6 miles at sea level, right? ;-)

Never have run at that altitude, so I'll have to take your word for it. 6 miles it is.

Mt. Evan's Ascent: America's Highest Road Race!

"Although the air will be noticeably thin at the starting line, Echo Lake's 10,600 feet of elevation is just the beginning. The climb totals nearly 4,000 vertical feet - much of it above treeline - as you make your way 14.5 miles to the finish line located at the summit of one of the most recognizable peaks on Denver's mountain skyline - 14,264 foot Mt. Evans."

That sounds like a beautiful, but tough, race Ruth! My co-worker is running a marathon this weekend that goes to the top of a mountain in CO and back down. Craziness!

Fitness rooms should definitely be ventilated better. Nonetheless, to quote a recent motivating picture: "No matter what, you are lapping those on the couch" :)

Nice work! I hate the TM at the gym because I think it is too hot. Can't imagine no AC or ventilation. I'm imagining a not so pleasant smelling room. No offense intended!

I agree with Steve's good advice to go easy on the ankle to let it heal...especially if you want to be able to have some fun at the St Pete's 1/2 without injury. Good luck!

Nikki-it's so much fun! It's basically a big dance party (there were 100 people in my class today). But you have to be willing to be silly and not care how you look while dancing. I like it because I burn as many calories in an hour class as I do running 5 mi.
