    Trying to build up some time on my feet. Nice easy pace, lots of hill hiking. There is a good chance that my calves may show their anger tomorrow.

      Jeff, a friend on Dailymile (Marcie) recommended that I get a ProStretch for my calf/A.t. problems. It solved them. I don't know if this is the answer to your woes but it may be worth investigating.
