Worst race I could imagine. Injured my achilles six weeks ago. So, no running -- only spinning since then. Got a cold earlier in the week. Had to take meds through Thursday. Did okay the first half - 2:09. Cramped around mile 15. Started a run/walk mix to keep moving forward. Had screaming cramps around mile 19 - me screaming, hamstring laughing in a ball.

Just a wonderful day but I finished. Talked to some nice volunteers and had some good laughs while grimacing through it. Finishers medal is really cool. Heavy sucker. Got a high five from both of my daughters around mile 8. Always makes it a good day.

Will be shifting to a half marathon plan for the next eight months. Might have to attempt this pig again next year. We'll see how I feel this fall.

Rob, nice job just finishing. You could have easily given up, but you didn't. I had this same experience last fall. Don't let it get to you. Keep your head up and move on to the next thing! Congratulations!

Unlucky Rob. You went into this in much less than ideal conditions. Even with all this, ------- YOU FINISHED!!!! - For that, and just for that, you are in the top 1% of the population (of the World) I'd say that's a success.
