Nice rails to trails path west of Cleveland.
Chilly ride around the Cleveland suburbs this evening. Wasn't bad at 6pm but the temperature slipped quickly into the 40s. Cold and numb toes by the end. Spicy Thai dinner and a long hot showe... read more
Looked back at the elevation data. 1000' of climbing. No wonder my average speed is so slow. Got to get stronger.

Burpees and abs. Repeat.
Change up to the Monday routine. Decided to see what we could do with burpees and ab exercises. Exhausting.

Keeping Sunday as a rest day is always a challenge for me especially after a short Saturday mileage day. However, it must be done. Need to keep some balance.
Getting slower. Meh. Still an AG top three and AG personal best. That's nice.
Nice Race Rob, way to go!!!!

HRTraining can slow you down a bit, but still a great run! Congrats on the AG place and PR!

Thanks, Dana. I've been HR training for a few years. I'm passed the slow ya down phase. I think it's just an age thing but I won't quit trying to get faster. Maybe I was just a bit tired from a hard couple months of travel.

Rest and recovery today. Restorative yoga and some trigger point is on the menu. Going for 21 minute 5K in the morning. Need to find my speedy legs.
Warmup. Go fast. Cool down.
Dead legs. Rest day tomorrow.
Afternoon spin around the countryside. Beautiful day to be out and about.
Mile warm-up. Four miles at half marathon pace. Mile cool down.
Feeling yesterday's spin. Kept pace 8:10-8:20. Just have to do that three times as long for a PR.
Dumbbell weight session with abs between sets. Shoulder feeling better after no pressing for a month. Slowly adding presses to the routine again.
10 minute w/u; 3x 2min/3min HIIT cycles; 1x 5 minute climb; 5 minute c/d.
Nice gym date with my wife.
Zone 2 with two five minute surges to zone 3. Nice conversational miles with Andre. He's not a DMer but he's my running buddy. Finished in the rain. Did a barefoot quarter for cool down.
Finally back in the blogging saddle.

Core, foam roller, yoga. Nice cap to the month of training.
Good job on getting these miles in. I've had a time getting my mileage back up since my marathon on April 7. It takes time. Can't force it or else injuries could occur.

Doesn't take much to make a run feel like this. but then again it doesn't take much to do the complete opposite too.
