Sunny but 17F and a light breeze for the race this morning? Maybe squeezing in a 5k in February wasn't such a great idea!

I had the same thoughts...
It was nice meeting you, Jim. Apparently not only the 5K, but also the 10K was longer. Nice hilly morning run, nevertheless.about 22 hours ago • Like

Okay, so they may have us seeming much slower than we really are because the results aren't adjusted, but at least they're flattering me by getting my age wrong. It says I'm 37. That's a few years in the rear view mirror now. :)

RUN
good DPRT Out and Back 3.7 3.71 mi 00:28 07:33 pace
Took a break from work for a quick run on the trail, in the snow. Nice out there, although the trail was frozen and rutted, so it was a pretty good ankle workout.

nice run in the snow - good preparation for the 5K on Sunday!

Will do the 5K with my husband (he shares the dislike for running with your wife!) so a 5K is all I can convince him to do.

good C2 Rowing 4.74 km 00:23 07:49 pace
Little bit of a light row today. Even though my running miles have been down the last few weeks, I've had some pain creep back into my left knee. So it was rowing and bike today. Maybe a run tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that Jim but good call on cross training today! Hoping your knee feels better tomorrow!!

Thanks, Janine. I feel like I'm reaching my limit, though, and there are two more "rungs" left in the program. The totals eventually hit something like 220+. Not sure if I can make it.

Good! Glad you liked it. I ran under Coach Newton in the 80s. Was fortunate enough to run the state meet and win a title (team title, not individual of course). I thought the movie was fantastic. Believe or not he's mellowed since when I ran there.

Thanks, Lynn and Janine. I had to go back a week in the program because I skipped too much time. And even with that, I struggled to complete this workout, so I better get a little more focused if I'm going to complete the program. It's tough.

good Golf to Butterfield and Back 4.08 mi 00:31 07:39 pace
It's January 31, we live north of Chicago, I went out for a run at 5:45 p.m., and it's still 54F degrees out! This winter is crazy. Felt great to get out for a quick run.

Fun, catchy commercial. (Running counts, too.)

Great fast pace Jim, especially for a 5k and beyond!!

Thanks, Lynn and Kate. I slowed dramatically towards the end. I need to get working because I'd like to hold that pace or faster for an 8k, so this was a good indicator I'm not there yet. And Janine, you had a great time, too. I just looked at the official results. Too bad they didn't accommodate for the new distance, since it's showing us at an 8+ minute pace.
And Christie, sorry I missed you there today. I took off right after the 5k was done.
