    Longest run since I fractured my tibia in August. It was a struggle and my leg started aching around mile 2. Can't believe how long it's taking me to build up my mileage.

      It started as a stress fracture from so much mileage... :) Then I was in a minor accident and it "set" the fracture. I didn't realize either of these things and continued to run for a bit until it literally gave out on me during my last leg of Ragnar in August. Went in for xrays and an MRI as they thought I tore my miniscus... nope, fractured tibia... Thankfully I have a pretty high pain tolerance. I was on crutches for 6 weeks, 4 of them absolutely NO weight bearing... Felt like FOREVER.

      NICE job on the marathon and Ragnar!!! Will keep the fingers crossed and hope for the best for your knee, Joli! If a tear it can be fixed and will heal...not easy and takes time, but you've many runs and races ahead of you yet!

      What a bummer! Stupid weather. Good attitude, though, and plan for your own marathon! For me, the training is just as much a source of pride as the actual race is. Lots of hard work and dedication!!

    I absolutely LOVE running up north. However, this season I'm told to be on constant alert for bear... Makes for an interesting and sometimes speedy run. 2 more short runs before race day!!
