  1. RUN
alright Tennessee run/walk with Tim 7.51 mi 01:42 13:34 pace

Humid, hilly and slow 5:1s with Tim. But very shadded and scenic, and now the workouts are done for the week!

  2. VELO
good North Branch Trail ride 44.33 mi 03:03 14.6mph pace

Tim and I are heading out of town for the weekend, so we got our weekend long ride out of the way today. I did two loops (plus a little extra) on the North Branch Trail, starting at Linne Woods. ... read more

  3. RUN
alright neighborhood run 4 mi 00:49 12:18 pace

Feeling tired tonight. I tried to do a fifteen minute segment and a ten minute segment at a faster pace, but faster tonight meant 11:30s. Three two minute walk breaks thrown in there.

  4. RUN
great CTC stride 2.09 mi 00:21 10:14 pace

Best run I've had in a while! It helped that it was only two miles and that I was still giddy from the lake swim.

  5. swim
great CTC stroke 880 yd 00:20 40:00 pace

First swim in Lake Michigan of the year! The water was choppy, but comfortably warm. I was nervous before heading in, but once I started swimming I just enjoyed the ride and had lots of fun.

  6. swim
    good CES swim workout 2450 m 01:05 42:41 pace

I was feeling pretty worn out heading into this workout, but I felt glad I did it when I was done. It definitely improved my mental state. Workout was as follows:

    200/100/200 swim/kick/pull warm-... read more

  7. RUN
    good Monday morning run/walk 3.6 mi 00:49 13:30 pace

I am starting to think that Monday morning runs might actually be a good thing -- getting used to running on tired legs and all that. I did 5:1s through the neighborhood, and felt okay, despite th... read more

  8. RUN
good North Branch Trail run 7.31 mi 01:32 12:33 pace

5:1 run/walk with Tim after our bike ride. Hot and tiring but I got it done.

  9. VELO
good North Branch Trail ride 14.32 mi 01:02 13.9mph pace

Nice ride along the North Branch Trail with Tim.

  10. RUN
good Brick run 2.6 mi 00:30 11:32 pace

Distance is estimated, based on the last five minutes of my run that Tim tracked (oh, yeah, I forgot my Garmin today). Felt crappy like bricks always do, but felt better during the end than at the... read more

  11. VELO
good CES Barrington ride 51.1 mi 03:50 13.3mph pace

First fifty mile ride of the season in the books! I am super happy I did this today. Kelly and I talked before-hand and agreed we'd do it together, as we usually can't keep up with the ... read more

  12. RUN
good CES run 4.84 mi 00:55 11:16 pace

Warmed up for ten minutes, then did some dynamic stretching and accelerations. Workout was 10 min zone 3, 2 min recovery, 2 * 5 min zone 4 with 3 min recovery, 10 min building to all out. My pace s... read more

I keep thinking 'you just did a race, why are you working out so much?' :-) Way to keep the consistency leading up to Steelhead!

I keep asking myself the same question! It's weird, normally when I do an Olympic tri, that's my A race for the year. It was weird to go into PP thinking of it as a "warm-up".

Are you doing Steelhead? I will be there as part of a relay team, doing the swim - would be great to see you!

  13. swim
alright morning swim 1400 yd 00:40 50:17 pace

Not great. Got to the pool late, and felt like I was dragging the entire time. Warm-up 200/200/200 swim/kick/pull, then 800 yards of swimming. I think I need to get more sleep.

  14. VELO
good evening commute 9.16 mi 00:44 12.4mph pace

Always more crowded on the path in the evening.

  15. VELO
good morning bike commute 9.32 mi 00:44 12.7mph pace

Pleasant enough ride to work on the LFT.

  16. VELO
    good bike trainer 00:58

Easy spin on the bike trainer. Watched OITNB.

  17. RUN
good neighborhood run/walk with Tim 4 mi 00:49 12:08 pace

5:1s through the neighborhood with Tim before work. As much as I love the speed laces in transition, I think I prefer running with regular laces.
