The trail was going to be a mess this morning after 24 consecutive hours of rain here in Austin - so we took our slightly sleep deprived self out onto the streets to stay as dry as we could. (Landry was a little fussy last night).
Ran the "Boston Course" this morning that alternates ups and downs each mile - I like this route a lot as it keeps it "interesting" -
Mile 1 up 41 feet
Mile 2 down 39 feet
Mile 3 up 42 feet
mile 4 down 35 feet
mile 5 up 58 feet
mile 6 down 58 feet
mile 7 up 54 feet
mile 8 down 51 feet
Splits were: 7:28, 7:10, 7:30, 7:07, 7:33, 7:24, 7:29, 7:05
Brought the run in :09 under MP Goal Time - good run on a rainy Wednesday. Have a great day everyone!

Great run in the rain Joe! Nice splits. Hope the sun shines by you again soon.

@Brendan - I know, I'm so lame. Was going to go naked for Naked Wednesday - but I did bring the watch as I had not run that "Boston Route" in about a month - wanted to see how we did with all the hill repeats we have been doing. I think the 99% humidity was a lot tougher than the hills were. Hoping all this stuff blows out of here before Hill Repeats tomorrow ...

Thanks guys! @Bob - you and me both --- when I came home from work yesterday my wife said, "She's been out cold all day ...." - I knew right then we were in big trouble. Not much sleep between 1 and 3:30 a.m. - but I did log some from 10-1 and 3:30 to 5:30 ..... could always be worse I suppose. I told Dawn to pinch her every two hours today to keep her awake!

That is a fantastic effort, and it's great to see how hard you're still hammering your workouts in the rain, especially with your newly sleep-deprived regimen. Keep up the good work, especially the parenting part!

@Jim - not sure if I ever told you this, but I went to college with Darius. He went to High School with my college roommate and best man Keith who lost his wife last month. Been friends for a long, long time with Mr. Rucker - so very appropriate - thanks for sending!
It is a great Wednesday, hoping your appt. tomorrow follows suit!

@Leslie - I'll have to tell the story of bumping into Soni the drummer with my wife one day in Charleston, SC - I embarrassed the #$%@ out of her as I slammed my shopping cart into him .... she didn't know I knew those guys either .... Super nice guys, never let fame get to them. Darius was quite the ladies man in College .....

@Jim - those guys were absolutely LEGENDS at Carolina when I was there - long story short - Darius was a Budweiser fan (still is) as was I. I would buy a round for the band, walk up to the stage and hand over beers to Darius and the guys..... wait about 5 minutes and then chat up all the young coeds who wanted to know how I knew those guys. Best $15 a guy could ever spend ....
