Frisco, TX Recovery Run 8 mi 01:02 07:47 pace

The wind is gone from Texas, was a near perfect morning here in Frisco, TX for an easy recovery run after yesterdays TX Half-Marathon over in Dallas. Where was this weather yesterday? Just took it easy around the local golf course. Thought a lot about everyone racing back home in Austin at the 3M Half.

Jim M. , Sean L. Tom M. and especially Brendon C. who has to miss this year fighting an injury - I'll miss you guys today - knock 'em dead today and take advantage of that course and this weather - it is a PR Day if there ever was one - Jim M. get that NYC Time!

Race well guys!

I just got in from picking up the newspaper and thought the same thing - cold and still - perfect racing weather. I wasn't sure I would be ready to race this close to Houston so I didn't do 3M (though yesterday I felt great). Focusing on a PR Half Marathon in Austin in 3 weeks. (the day before I turn 40).

@Sean, ugh, probably a smart call though. I'll be running the Austin Half also. Maybe we can race a bit.

Now you're putting me to shame, Joe. I know you know what you're doing, but even after racing hard yesterday your recovery pace is pretty darned fast when compared to mine! But then, you're not just any run-of-the-mill runner, you're Joe Marruchella! Great easy run my friend!

Thanks guys! @Winston, I think the wind kind of tempered the pace yesterday just enough to keep the soreness away this morning. That or those high mileage weeks leading up to race day. You are looking good friend!

Thanks @Joe! Qualified for NY with minutes to spare and set new PR by nearly 2 minutes -- thanks for the well wishes.

Man Joe, sorry you couldn't have gotten back down here to run 3M just at a recovery pace. What a phenomenal day it was today. Thanks for the shout-out!

Looked like a great race day. I walked down the street to watch. Enjoyed watching everyone racing by, still looking good after 7+ miles.
