I'll update the time when I have the official results (done: official time was 41:05), but either my garmin is acting up or this 10k course is a little short - which would give me an unrealistically good pace - but I'll take it.
This was the second year in a row that I ran this race. I signed up at the last minute because I wanted something to do for April. Last year, the weather was super windy, cold, and wet. This year, it was just cold (38 degrees at the start), which was great because I didn't feel over heated in my t-shirt and shorts.
There are no major climbs, but the elevation profile is rather jagged. I concentrated on gaining speed as much as possible on the short down hills, no matter how slight, while cranking up the after burners on the short uphills to maintain speed. It was a 10k after all.
My plan was to do better than 6:55 mpm (which was my last 10 mile race pace), and it seems to have worked out. My garmin put me at 6:50 mpm.
