Took it nice and easy today, but the bursitis is still bothering me. I don't think I'd care too much if I could be sure it wasn't going to turn into something worse like what happened with the PTT. I'm trying to stretch more and use the roller... right now the pain is not a big deal--just bothersome. I wish I could get a guarantee that I could keep running hard and not mess it up further! That would put my mind at ease. I just don't want to miss another fall HM because of a stupid injury!!

I'll cross my fingers for you. It's always hard to predict which thing can be managed and which will flare.

:( Bursitis is for the...burds? (POET alert) Have you seen a sports therapist? We have free sports clinics here, maybe there's something like that near you?

Shrarone, I do have a sports doc that I like (saw him for the PTT), but no direct line to a physical therapist. So I just go with a combo of what the semi-ortho-trained husband tells me and what the runners forums say. And yes, bursitis is for the burds. Who was it that said that? Shakespeare, I think?
Sue & Daisy, thanks for the crossed fingers and empathetic words. Here's hoping we'll all be feeling top strength going into fall running...

A nagging pain can really take some of the joy out of our training. Sorry you're dealing with that. Baby it when you're not running and keep us posted!
