Experienced runners, I'd love some advice. I originally set up a training plan (on Smart Coach/ Runners World) for a HM on Oct. 7th, but switched to run one on Oct. 14th. So now I have an extra week. This week was sort of a "break" week, where the plan dialed me down to all easy runs for a total of 39 miles. The next three weeks are significantly harder--51, 53, 55 with tempos and speedwork--and then there's a week of taper. So what should I do with the extra week? Do the 51 week twice? Add an easier week in between 53 and 55? My priorities are to maximize the training time so I get faster while avoiding injury. Advice?

    I would do something like high 40's this week - maybe 49 and then adjust your workouts just a bit. If you let me know what your workouts are for the next 3 weeks and I could help you switch it up just enough to keep it exciting to both your mind and your muscles. Let me know :)
