Both kids ran with me. Ian is not a runner and was only coming along because his sister challenged him. So... I had to slow down for him a lot.

Splits:
1. W/Ian (some slow jogging) - 1.34 mi @11:33
2. W/Ian (w/minimal running) - 0.4 mi @15:11
3. By myself - 0.44 mi @9:43

Leg 1, Ian kept up to our turnaround point and the we had to slow down. Leg 2 was mostly walking and encouragement. Leg 3 was at a point where I could run in 3 spurts, turn off my watch to walk back to Ian each time, and make sure we both got home safely (but with me getting to run my desired pace!). If he hadn't come along, I might've had a speedy run. That's okay, though. He learned that running a fast mile in gym class doesn't translate to running further distances ;-)
