    Eased back into running a couple weeks ago. Today was my first long run. Ran 6 miles with a 1 min walk break at the start of each mile. Went really good and felt really good!

      Thanks Doug. I looked it up & it sounds like my IT band is inflamed. The pain extends from outside my knee up my thigh. Gonna try ice & rest this week & hopefully I can get through Sunday! Gonna need lots of luck! Hope to see you there too!

      I had similar pain after my marathon, let it go for 4 years, turns out it was a cyst. Had it removed in april, lotsa fun

      Thanks Doug. I know I ran it too fast & that's why I didn't feel so great when finished. That's actually about my goal pace for the half. I have a hard time slowing down even though I know I'm supposed to. Any tips for that?

      Uh, gain about 50 pounds? It keeps me plenty slow! Seriously, though, I run with a heart rate monitor and I focus on keeping my heart rate relatively low on my long runs.

      Good luck on the half, I'm planning on doing the st louis half and the flying pig full in april and may. Gonna take the build up slow and try to avoid hurting myself this time
