Did three.75 mile loops with a number of fitness stations along the way. Nice loop with a lot of ups and downs.
Only half the stations made any sense. Cardio stepper in the middle of a 3/4 mile running loop? Tai chi wheels halfway through the loop? Yep, I'm going to run this loop, do bodyweight exercises, and then stop to spin 2 wheels in opposite directions. Or the balance steps toward the end? And not sure why they put the chest press machine, assisted row station, and pull-up/dip bars right after one another.
All griping aside, it was a good way to get in some cross training while running. Plyometric steps, chest press, inverted rows, pushups, chin-ups, bodyweight dips, crunches.

And just to keep from making a thousand entries, 30 minutes with the indian clubs before leaving this morning.

Thinking about the different stations and the people I saw walking the loop, I realize there are probably a lot more people who would use the balance steps or the tai chi wheels than the chin-up bar or crunch bench (no head support, so you have to be somewhat fit or really short to use it). The cardio stepper still makes absolutely no sense.

Probably someone who doesn't work out much designed the course. Kind of like people who have never been in a classroom making important decisions about education.

Teri, that's what I assume. Some pencil pusher in the Parks and Rec department who never runs or workouts.
I had an email exchange with one of the pencil pushers about safety issues on multi-use trails and trying to educate people on trail etiquette - he never could grasp why it's important for people to stay to the right on multi-use trails.

Wow, you would think it would make sense for people to stay to the right on multi-use trails. It's no different than cars driving both ways on a road. Someone better stay to the right or there will be a collision and that would not be pretty. Of course I know you know that, but that just seems kind of logical to me that they would apply the same principle to trails as we use on roads.

I guess until the "workout" bug hits you, you just don't get it!
