Busy day, rushed to fit this in but I'm glad I didn't let it slip through the cracks.

Nice. What are some of the biggest differences between barefoot and shoe running distance-wise?
Distance wise? If I'm running with shoes I'll easily go 3, 5 or more miles. But barefoot? I'm keeping it very short. Only a quarter mile each day. It's interesting just cause I am really aware of my footstrike, which I find is transferring into shoe-running as well. Just greater awareness of what my feet are doing.

Today was definitely a dizzy day. Due to that and the pouring rain, I chose to remain inside on my treadmill. Not much more to say beyond that... glad I got some miles done!

4 miles closer to greatness. Good job with the run and your phone app training, Jill.

After driving 3 hours back home, I was really excited to get out for a run. It was about 60 degrees here in Vegas! How could I not want to get out in that? I am still feeling dizzy most of the time, but that seems to lessen some while running thus I ... read more

Great to see you back out there, Jill. Nice job.

no doubt - the all-day run seems like it's the mythical place in front of all of us!

Jill - hope the dizziness goes away. At least it is not there when running - maybe you should try running all day ;)

I did some crazy program on the treadmill. Wasn't sure what the program did before starting, but it was apparently HILLS. I started to get excited for "rest" times when it dropped to "only" a 4% incline.
It actually felt pretty da... read more

LOL. Those crazy treadmill programs are sometimes the most fun.

You're absolutely right, the unknown of what it was going to do next made it feel like a game!

Ah... just a wonderful post-run work. Now I must pack because I'm hitting the road at 6 AM to travel for work. Hope to get some running in while in UT... snow is predicted so it will most likely be treadmill (less gear to pack!).

Have fun!

Just decided I'm going to keep track of these amounts here, just for kicks. Planning on doing the same speed for a couple weeks... but then I'm trying to decide if I should kick up the speed or the distances on the barefooting. I'm not training to ru... read more

Wow Jill; are you using VFF's or really barefooting? Continued success with this my friend.
No VFF's, just barefoot on my treadmill. Well, actually I wear a thin pair of old socks, just cause I'm afraid the belt would rip my feet up some.
Wow. Good luck with the transition. Rob_Raux must be thrilled about what your doing.

I'm not looking to go barefoot full time! Too much junk on the roads (glass, garbage, rocks)! But it's an interesting exercise and brings a lot more awareness to form.

Surprisingly, I felt better today than I have in a couple weeks. The brain fog isn't entirely gone, but it was...uh, less murky! I honestly felt like I could have kept going and going and going.

Jill, that's fabulous. I'm so glad to hear it. Yay, running... just keep doing it, this too will pass. :-)

These mid-day walk breaks really help me, telecommuting is harder than anyone would ever realize. Just trust me on this!
