Not bad for the first run in 3 months...

Icy! Ran on snowy icy roads

  4. RUN
good Prospect Park Turkey Trot 5 mi 00:48 09:32 pace

Thrilled that I made my first 5-miler! Spent the rest of the day stuffing bagels, turkey, brussels sprouts and plenty of carbs into my mouth (oh, and wine aplenty)

  5. RUN
    great 4.2 mi 00:45 10:42 pace

I am amazed - I CAN go futher than 5 km, all it takes is some mental stimulation (science podcasts rather than just toons).

Next stop, the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot (5 MILES, hence my upped training).

First run back after fighting off a throat thingie the last 2 weeks (or I'm just bone-idle), and made it 35' without a sweat, really! Did my fave trick of darting up and about those hill trails and... read more

  7. RUN
alright Ran through Brooklyn 4.5 km 00:25 08:56 pace

Struggled to keep going past 20'. Bored, grey day, the Spice Girls 'Forever' album wasn't doing it for me (what was I thinking?). But I pressed on, letting myself stop at 25'.

  8. RUN
    good 5 km 00:30 09:39 pace

Not bad - actually ran back to the starting point of the Tunnel to Towers to see if my carelessly discarded umbrella was still littering the sidewalk! (it wasn't). I like seeing the green and indus... read more

Yeah, well, I had to knock down a few old biddies, and I pushed one guy into the emergency poles between the lanes in the tunnel, but it's worth it for a PB.

  10. RUN
great Ran through Brooklyn 4.5 km 00:27 09:39 pace

Another nice run, on an empty stomach (2 pm), avoided cramp with pre-emptive deep breathing. Looking good to make 30' later this week or early next, Next Stop: Tunnel to Towers Sept 27!

  11. RUN
great Ran through Brooklyn 4.2 km 00:25 09:34 pace

My absolute FAVE running conditions - 18C and raining out, through industria, meandering wherever the traffic lights take me, had a great run.

  12. RUN
    alright 4 km 00:21 08:26 pace

A tad sluggish...DON'T recommend listening to Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan or Lou Reed as jogging music - NOT inspiring, makes me wanna slouch in a sofa and smoke...got a stitch coming back down the hill so... read more

First lunch-time trip around Central Park. Got stuck in the tourist jam around the SE corner, and realized that I should have cut back into the park sooner. Nice run with great scenery, though.
