blah 1st time back on the road 2.81 mi 00:26 09:19 pace

Time to try the roads. The Hokas felt really weird, but I got used to them pretty quickly. I didn't realize how out of shape I was during the 2 treadmill runs. This run kicked my ass. It will ... read more

I haven't run in 3 and 1/2 months, and after unsuccessfully completing a round of physical therapy, and inching closer to surgery, I figure I have nothing to lose by trying to run. Naturally,... read more

    alright treadmill 4.25 mi 00:37 08:38 pace

Saw a podiatrist today. Gave me an orthotic to wear while NOT running. I'm allowed to keep running for now, so that's good. Did some half-assed hills on the treadmill.

Hope it works. I use them in my everyday and in my running shoes. Took a couple of days to get used to them but really solved my ITB issue I had in 2011. If you ever get the time head out to Roadrunner Sports in New Brunswick. They do a really good fitting service and they have their own line of orthotics (various types) that I put into my show. Good luck.

Hi Jeff. It was a tough one out there. Glad you made it to the finish line. Hope the foot begins to heal for you. I did the same, hardcore park visits from Thursday on. Well, it was fun either way and the family had a great time. My sister in law ran her first Half and my wife and I ran the whole way together and she finished her first Full. Not really doing it for time, we stopped for almost every character stop but totally worth it. We did the full in 5:28 (well beyond my sub 4 PR!!)

When's your next big race? I'm avoiding Broad Street this year and heading to the NJ Marathon. Then planning on Marine Corps.

Right now I'm planning on doing the NYC Half, and Broad Street (lottery permitting for BSR.) After doing Marine Corps for the past 2 years, I'm going to try something different and run the Atlantic City Marathon for my fall race. My main training goal, however, is to get my foot to finally heal.

Oh, and congrats on surviving Goofy too.

Thanks. Next up is the Atlantic City April Fools Half. It fits in with my NJ Marathon plan and my wife planning this in her warm up to Broad Street. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
