  1. good4 plus parking garages 4 mi

I wasn't going to run today but got bored and I decided to head out for a few miles. I didn't have a planned route...I just ran around downtown trying to find streets that weren't too messy. My mind started to wonder about possible snow free places to ... read more

nah, thats not crazy. its a good way to avoid the the cold wind and ice i think. i bet it'd be cool to run the car route all the way slowly to the top. thats an idea....

  2. I registered for the Marine Corp Historic Half Marathon in Fredericksburg on May 16th. I am going to be in Richmond area that weekend for an awesome wedding so I thought I would stop off on the way home to run a half marathon.

    • Caleb K. Caleb K.

Yeah, I think I will be at that wedding as well!

    • Trudy K. Trudy K.

Yes, Caleb, I think you indeed will be at that wedding. Funny!
Way to go Julia-Faye. The way you're running lately, you will be super!

  3. alright 3 mi

Snow everywhere! I took a short run around downtown to check things out and to get out of the house for a little while. I might head out again for a few more after the sun does a little more work on the roads. I'm not the most graceful person so there ... read more

Kudos for running the the snow! I would not be doing such things, but rather spending the snow days on the sofa with girl scout cookies. Infact I did that with the rain on Saturday.

Snow run. I was hoping to get out before it started snowing too hard, but I slept in a little longer then expected. The snow did not feel good hitting my face, it was cold and wet. The drivers were making me nervous and the SUVs/ truck going a little t... read more

Hey every bit counts. Better to go with you intuition if you felt at all uneasy with the drivers. I feel uneasy in my car quite often!

  5. great 5.3 mi / 00:49 09:14 pace

This run felt awesome. I am really shocked at my pace lately, but I'm not complaining. This was a slightly hilly run.

  6. good 3 mi / 00:29 09:33 pace

Late night dark run. My foot got swallowed by a puddle, yuck.

    • Amy F. Amy F.

Oh crap, sorry to hear about that puddle, but way to get the mileage in.

that's weird, i thought i saw you earlier running on pleasant valley. i was running on the opposite side of the street, and trying to get a good look, but i guess i was wrong b/c that was in the afternoon. oh well.

I experienced the foot in water experience during my last night run, too. Sometimes I try to predict which mile it will happen. It seems it is inevitable sometimes.

nice pace! "swallowed by a puddle" - love it! hopefully it was late in the run so you didn't have to run with a sopping wet, cold foot for too long :)

  7. greatSpeed Workout 5 mi

We had an early dismissal today due to the nonexistent inclement weather. I ran over to Whittier to do some 800s. 1mile warm up run there, 3x800 4:00, 3:56 (woah!), 3:59, 800 easy recovery between each, 1 mile run home.

    • Amy F. Amy F.

Awesome speed workout! Way to take advantage of having some extra time on your hands.

Well look at you go! If we would have gotten out early, I would have finished my other 2 miles! Certainly not as speedily as you! Wow!

  8. great 8.5 mi / 01:20 09:23 pace

I got yelled at today by a man who thought that I should have been running on the invisible snow covered sidewalk instead of the side of the road. Oh well...I can't make everyone happy. Overall a great wandering through downtown.

    • Trudy K. Trudy K.

Wow! I would say so. Great run, Julia-Faye!

    • Matthew L. Matthew L.

UGH. I hate when that happens. You should have yelled back at him to clear off the sidewalks for you and then you'll run on them.

BTW, look at that nice pace for an 8+ mile run.

  10. great 4 mi / 00:38 09:26 pace

I thought that this run was going to be slower...I didn't look at the Garmin until the end and was pleasantly surprised. I kept it pretty flat and did two laps at the Abrams Creek Wetland Preserve.
