For my first run in MONTHS, I can't believe how far I got. Made it 3 miles with only a few walk breaks, which is pretty much as good as I was back when I was running more frequently. I am goin... read more

RUN
alright 2.11 mi 00:28 13:14 pace
Today was tougher. It's way humid and my lungs weren't so happy, which slowed me down, I think. Glad I made myself get out there, though.

RUN
good 2.12 mi 00:27 12:36 pace
Gorgeous morning - way too warm for April! Good run; increasing interval to .3 running/.1 walking. Felt good, and no hip pain! Reminding myself that slow and steady wins it - and there's no... read more

good Georgetown 2.33 mi 00:33 14:09 pace
Gorgeous day for a run. Took my new Garmin watch out for a spin - I need to make some adjustments so it won't beep at me as much, but I think I like it. The run felt good and I am looking for... read more

Just tell your watch to STFU! :-) I know I have said that out loud to mine during a run (when no one was around so I didn't look completely loony). I have a hard time reining in my HR towards the end of my runs and it's constantly beeping at me. It's a love-hate relationship but that watch is still my best running buddy! I'm sure you guys will work out your differences. ;-)

Which Garmin did you get? And more importantly, how is your hip?

good First day back! 2.01 mi 00:29 14:25 pace
Officially done with PT, it's time to get back to regular exercise. Starting with a run/walk program from my surgeon, it will be slow going, but I'm super happy that it felt good today!

I feel like we could build in a run before breakfast next Sunday, but I really want to just drink coffee & enjoy your company in air conditioning!

That would be lovely, but I think next Sunday's run is scheduled to be 6 miles! I agree - would rather enjoy our coffee and catch up rather than run together (although we'll definitely talk about running!)

thanks, L! no clear answers, but he wants me to get an MRI for a closer look. The good news is I can continue to run short runs and cross train, so I can keep moving! just maybe not as hard core as I would like.
