Wonderful run. This is definitely going to become a regular route! I ran straight to the huge hydroelectric building thing I found on Saturday, and then over it onto an island in the middle of the huge Isar River (hence the title Isarinsel). I'm not sure what island it is, but it's absolutely beautiful and covered in paths and wildlife. I went north on it for a really long time and didn't want to turn back since I knew I went too far for the length of the run I was planning on, so I put faith in my instincts and looked for the bridge I thought was ahead. I was right and I crossed the pedestrian bridge back into the English Garden. I then headed back through the English Garden, passing by my fairytale pond once again, where I dipped my fingers in. Boy, was that water cold! Anyway, I definitely loved this run, and 3.5 miles used to be my usual recovery run. Oh, and I also threw 6 x 30 minute pickups in there just to get my body into shape a little quicker. PS. One thing I love about Munich is how flat it is, especially the English Garden. Check out the elevation profile for this run... AMAZING! (Interesting as well how it's 1600 ft above sea level compared to the 0-400 ft I'm used to.)
