Glad you were able to get back out there! Nice ride! Injuries and little annoyances are so tough! Hang in there girlie, it's the toughest part staying off of it but if you do let it heal then you'll have a longer running and biking career! I really should listen to my own advice though shouldn't I? But I don't. I do know how you feel though!

@ Tracy, Kelly, & Derek-Thanks for the encouragement & positivity it's quite motivating! I've struggled with riding & running since moving to SC in January. Coming from Alaska, the heat & humidity here are so totally foreign to my body & it is easy to get discouraged when unable to perform as you know you could just months ago. It's an ongoing battle that I WILL overcome with time & adjusting to the climate & weather here. But truly, the support here is so wonderful! Thank you Thank you!!

hi, i just ran across your post. the heat in SC is pretty serious! it takes some getting use to that's for sure. the more you run outside the more use to it you will be. i just bought a road bike and started cycling as a cross training activity besides my running! i am really enjoying it!!

Britton, road riding really is fun isn't it! We just signed up for the Savannah ride in late August. www.savannahcentury.com I am used to clocking 90-120 miles a week on my roadie but have yet to ride more than 70 miles at once time so I need to start training for this one. Anyhow, just wanted to pass on the ride to ya incase you were interested. The registration fees are reasonable and they have different routes if you do not want to commit to the century ride!

The hardest thing for me to remember here is hydration and eating enough before starting distance rides. I was never good at that in AK but you definitely feel it more quickly here in the heat of the south and once you are worn out that is a hard thing to come back from. Good job with your rides already put in! 20 mile rides from the get go is a fantastic start!!
