      Nice spin Jennifer! @Holly, I've ridden spin bikes before that sync your heart rate monitor and give you mileage...it's a nice treat, but sucks really bad if you ever have to switch to bikes that don't have all the bells & whistles :)

      oh I'm so sorry to hear that! there isn't much worse than doing all the training and then not being able to run the marathon - I hope it heals quickly! but if not, there will be another one to run when you're healthy.

      Oh My How on earth did I miss this? Well what do you do when you cant run. Swimming, pool jogging, cycleing, not spin where you get up out of the saddle, but stationary, possibly rowing. Also the Mr Mobility exercises of Mike's. It sooooo stinks.

      Good Luck Jennifer, I am hoping that it is just a minor inconvenience and nothing serious. From a selfish standpoint, I find your workouts motivating and would miss them... But don't let that influence your comeback. You just get well :-)

      Thanks Martin, for now they want me to rest for a week and then re- X-ray, so we'll see.

      Hi Holly, Yeah, shit is not good. Did our long run about a week and a half ago and felt fine that day, but the next day I started having pain in my left lower leg. Thought it might be shin splints, but then it got worse and worse. Very focal, horizontal across the bone and it hurts like crazy to run. I fail the jump test miserably. The full marathon I have been training for is exactly one month from now =(
