Mission 2:15 started today with my first training run for the Iron Horse Half Marathon. These first 2 weeks will be fairly easy before kicking it into high gear for the final 12 weeks.
Why Mission 2:15? That's my goal time. I want to finish in under 2 hours and 15 minutes. Granted that's nearly 17 minutes faster than my PR, but gotta aim high right?
Today's run was good. Heat was killer with it hitting 73 at 5:30 am. Just took it easy and pushed to get the 5 miles in.

Great run Jay. Hey will you wait for me at the finish line at Iron Horse? I'll be the last guy to cross. Ha!

I ran a few 2:30 half marathons and I thought I would be in that group forever. Then at my 4th half I ran a 2:15:09 and haven't strayed much away from that since. You can do it!!

Thanks Rebecca for the encouragement! I really thought I would hit 2:15 in my last half (my second one ever) but the combination of unexpected hot conditions & wearing myself out seeing the sights with my family did me in. But you live & learn.
