Not the race I wanted to run; way hillier than anticipated and my PF acted up some. But I finished and it was still a 6 minute PR. I met Troy, a fellow DM'r, really nice guy, and he ran a great race! I need to run some more hills...

Congrats man on your PR...always want to strive for better...but the area over in High Point just means hills plain and simple...wicked area for a long distance race. Way to stick it out with you PF! You should be proud! Enjoy some cold ones!

Well, congrats on the PR at any rate... But yeh, I can dig why you're not happy with that... And I don't know that course but I still think you are MUCH faster than this over the distance. You could come to CLT in a few weeks and try the Racefest half if you're so inclined.

Nice PR. I know you wanted to go faster, but it is hard to be upset with a good PR.

Jay, you are throwing time off by minutes! I'm still convinced you're a sub 1:30 just waiting to bust out on the right day. Great effort today though considering the terrain and the PF.

@Chaz and Mark: I know I'm much faster, I've run the distance in sub 1:40 just in training. Today just wasn't my day. There will be others...
Thanks for the support everyone!

We've all been there. I've had a string of not so great races lately until today. You should seriously look into the Charlotte 1/2 - redemption run!

that's still an incredible time for a 1/2! (i'm hoping to have a mid-to-low 10's pace for mine in 2 weeks.) great job!

Sheesh, a hilly, touchy PF race still gives a 6 min. PR! I can sympathise because it's obvious you're capable of more, but still green with envy. ;)

Jay, congrats on the PR. You ran well given the circumstances but I understand the frustration of running slower than you know you're capable of.

A PR is still a PR in my books! Great job esp. with those hills. Too bad about the PF. Rest and have a root beer - Congrats Jay.

Jay awesome 6 min PR. Sorry it wasn't exactly what you wanted, but it's a great accomplishment!

Outstanding on the PR Jay, can't really ask for much more than that. Feeling you could have done more just gives you even more to work towards next time.
almost 2 years ago • Like
Sorry you didn't have the race you wanted, dude. I've been there in my last 2 races (MCM and HAT). It'll get better for both of us, if we're ever allowed to race! Always cool to meet other DailyMilers too. Keep your head up. Great PR that will be broken!
