alright Charleston Marathon 26.46 mi 04:15 09:38 pace

I went into this run with no pressure/no goals as my training hasn't been great. I think mother nature and the course designer added a few minutes as well. The weather would have been perfect if not for the ridiculous amount of wind out there today. And as beautiful as Charleston is, let me tell you the course designer went completely out of their way to avoid all the lovely parts. My favorite part was the beginning of an out and back at mile 21 that went on forever, and the longer it went on, the more it sucked my soul right out of me. When you turned around, you were hit in the face with a double digit headwind that just brutalized you. It was a tough race for me, even going at a slower pace than I would have normally. Generally I'm happy with the time based on the work I put in ahead of time and the conditions. Mostly I'm glad for the first time since July I don't have a workout plan to follow next week. Maybe that will help to get my mojo back.

Great job Randy! I'm glad you could be OK with a no pressure race - running a marathon is tough enough! That's too bad about the scenery - it must be pretty expensive to get those streets shut down.

Great race Randy !!! The thing about the marathon is , it's never the same !! You may or may not hit the wall , you may hit it at mile 18 , you may have lots of things with weather . Wind is the worst by far though and just to be able to finish in those conditions is HUGE !! Pat yourself on the back for me on a job well done !!
