Entertaining post as usual Randy! Too bad the content is no fun - I hope you work through it well. It's been too long since we ran and I was hoping to do it soon. Just let me know when you're ready.

Read your post -- nice post, except I hate that you are having to work through more ITB stuff. You'll be back up and running in no time -- I, too, have discovered the hard way that building core and other strength is SO important in order to run efficiently. Once you get that ankle healed, hopefully you'll be back out and running with no pain!

good Foothills Drifter 6k 6 km 00:28 07:26 pace
I signed up for this race a bit on a whim, as I had only heard good things about it. It really was well run and a huge value for the money. I got a Patagonia brand race shirt, socks and a Solomon b... read more

Ran that race last year...really cool race and lots of good freebies. Last year there was a torrential downpour the night before and there was calf-deep water on parts of the trail (not my idea of fun). Cool race, almost did it again this year but then was out of town. Nice pace!

Nice job on the race! I have only heard good things about that race, too. A friend who did it yesterday twisted his ankle and went down, too. Big ol' bloody knee. The perils of trail running in the rain, I guess. :) Glad you enjoyed it!

I've taken the week off after the marathon, but did finally post my recap: http://coffeeontherun.blogspot.com #runchat

great post Randy - " . . . I'll just run the full marathon out of spite." is classic. I'm glad to hear that you're going to take it easy for a while. Thanks for the race invite - I actually just planned a race schedule for the next several months and am not sure I have the time or budget for more. Are you doing Green Valley? We definitely have to get some type of running time in soon.

No Green Valley for me this year. Foothills Drifter in Feb, Atlanta Half in March (already signed up...sigh) then no other plans. I'm thinking of another full in the Fall, but I'm going to hold off on that decision as long as I can.

Good post, Randy. I'd have been upset at all of those fees, too. You've already paid that $10 for a downgrade by paying for the full in the first place, so that whole thing really made no sense. Definitely take it easy and I hope you can find your joy in running again soon. :) Hang in there!

Solid run Randy !!! I opted out of pacing because new manager at Try Sports didn't have same package as last year . I'm focusing fully on Wrightsville Beach . I hope you have a great race and will be sending you best of wishes for sure !!!! Even splits and easy start is the key at Charleston . Congested start , so take it easy and pick up pace as it thins out .
