      33 minutes in tough run 5k and in costume that is an accomplishment. my costume even got hung up in the Army Crawl.

    I need some advice.What is the secret to running long distances and not having your ankles and knee caps from hurting?

      If you're in cushioned shoes (the regular 'running shoes' of the last 40 years), my advice would be to move to barefoot shoes/running. Research is increasingly showing that cushioned shoes are damaging our legs (instead of helping them), while barefoot shoes/running is simply going back to the way we've run since we evolved into long distance runners (millions of years ago). Read 'Born To Run' by Christopher McDougall; very informative and inspirational.

      It was so much fun. If you ever get a chance, you should do it. Its called a 5k but its more about socializing with other runners and helping complete strangers out.
