great Over the Top 8 km 00:45 09:03 pace

I really, really wanted to break my monthly mileage record this month. That meant busting through the 120km barrier and that also meant I needed just under 8k before Sunday to get it done.

So I ran 5 miles tonight - just a touch over 8k and just far enough to push me over the top. My previous best month was August, 2008 during which I ran about 118km. That month came at about the same point in my training for the Scotiabank Half as this month comes in my training for the Chilly Half.

I started January off right - with a run on New Year's Day. And I kept up the schedule throughout the month, with three runs a week (sometimes four) and not a single Sunday run missed either, despite some ugly weather conditions.

Up next is an 18k run on Sunday, and then a couple of more long Sunday runs before the taper week. Race day is just four weeks away.
