great Time Trial 5 km 00:20 06:33 pace

The marathon is done, so the fear of injury when doing speed work is also not as great as it was a few weeks ago.

Tonight I decided to see where I was at over 5km after 19 weeks of marathon traini... read more

  2. RUN
great Variety Village Treadmill 6.01 km 00:28 07:32 pace

Finding the old pace again a week after the marathon. Still a bit heavy in the legs, but much better today than Thursday.

  3. RUN
great Neighbourhood Run 6 km 00:31 08:17 pace

Another recovery run tonight. These marathons stick with you for a bit after you run. The fatigue comes really quickly, even over a mere 6km.

good Recovery Run 3.08 km 00:14:48 07:44 pace

Nothing brings back memories of the last 5km of a marathon than a recovery run. I didn't look at my watch, instead I just ran what felt decent. Turns out that was a bit quicker than race pace.... read more

Personal best by an incredible 12:29. Still processing the fact I just ran a 3:36:01 full marathon. The effort put into training this winter and spring paid off and the weather today was perfect as... read more

I need to get a year older, and 11 or 12 minutes faster still to qualify. Finally there is hope that someday I could do it. But it'll be at least a year or two before I can even make an attempt to run better than 3:25.

great Last Training Run 10.01 km 00:48 07:42 pace

That's a wrap. 10km at a bit faster than race pace. If that turns out to be race pace, I'll be wearing a grin on my face from Sunday morning until the end of time.

One more run in the books. Two more training runs to go. Feeling a bit tired this morning, but that's to be expected thanks to the 16km at race pace yesterday.

great TORW2015 Week Eighteen LSD 15.3 km 01:22 08:35 pace

Woohoo! Last long run done. Ran this a bit easier than race pace thanks to a sore calf muscle that had me worried.

Turns out I don't engage that when I run, so it wasn't an issue. I&#x... read more

Felt decent tonight, with just a bit of lingering soreness from Sunday. Onwards...a mere seven more runs left before race day.

Shhhhhhh...remember when our first marathon surprised us with (somewhat) reasonable weather even though it was a billion degrees in the blazing sun the day before? That's what I'm sending your way!!!!!
