      I've been downing a Gu prior - and drinking some tea (regular morning caffeine drink). Helps a little. :-) Good for you for getting it done before the real icky heat!

      Yes, calves, just like after the marathon. It's the repetitive stress pounding of downhill, I think, not muscle fatigue. Quads and glutes totally fine.

      Yayyyy thank you for coming with us, Ismay! I was also a bit surprised that my calves are what is hurting a few days later. They've been pretty tender, but glutes etc were fine. I've never experienced that with running!
