  1. RUN
alright Hill reps 6.61 mi 00:47 07:10 pace

A very rainy, extremely windy early morning run. At times, running into the wind, it felt as if I was running on the spot.
The hill reps were quite hard going, and on the last one I rolled my ankle... read more

  2. RUN
good Run with Jo 2.47 mi 00:25 10:02 pace

A very windy evening run, which made it very cold too.
Jo was fighting off a cold/bug/something, and found it very hard going. Even so, she still managed a good pace, and put in a quick burst uphil... read more

  3. RUN
good Long run taking in Brocks Copse 11.02 mi 01:12 06:33 pace

I found my stride this morning, and got a good speed up.
Given that I eased into the first mile, cooled off in the last mile, and ran up both Brocks Copse and Alverstone Road hills, I was very plea... read more

  4. RUN
great Part cross country run with Jo 7.55 mi 01:18 10:23 pace

A really good effort from Jo, especially up the gruelling Brocks Copse.
What a nice way to start a Sunday morning.

  5. RUN
good Medina IOW Parkrun 3.09 mi 00:19 06:00 pace

That took a fair bit of doing today, on quite a soggy course, but I managed a PB! I started off just a bit too slow (I should have been cheeky and pushed my way up to the front), and was always a f... read more

  6. RUN
good Steady run, Brocks Copse 10.01 mi 01:08 06:46 pace

That's the first time I've tackled nasty hills since the Sussex Marathon.

I didn't go too mad, but was pleased to keep up a steady pace today. A beautiful morning for a run, especially along the c... read more

  7. RUN
Fartlek with Jo 4 mi 00:42 10:24 pace

Excellent effort from Jo. Very rewarding to see her manage 8:30 pace over a few sections, and also push up some long hills too.

  8. RUN
    alright 7 x 800 metres intervals 7.01 mi 00:48 06:46 pace

Quite tiring intervals; the first time I've done speedier stuff for many months now.

  9. RUN
good Easy run 5.01 mi 00:33 06:30 pace

A relaxed 5 mile run, with the speed picking up after a warm up mile, easing off again in the last mile.

  10. RUN
    alright Steady run E Cowes seafront &... 8.01 mi 00:54 06:45 pace

A good and steady run, although my quads were a bit stiff today.
The speed was definitely there though.

  11. RUN
great IOWRR - Island Harbour, Whipp... 4.39 mi 00:43 09:42 pace

Gentle run with Jo, Claire Campbell and Helen Batchelor.
Jo ran excellently tonight, the quickest she's ran that sort of distance for a long while.

  12. RUN
good Very easy 5 miler around East... 5.01 mi 00:35 06:53 pace

After a very gentle warm up mile, I found my stride, and was surprised the speed had already returned.
Because the legs felt a little stiff still, I decided not to do 6 miles in the end.

  13. RUN
alright Recovery run with Jo 3.27 mi 00:33 09:57 pace

Did just over 2 stiff and achey miles with Jo, then a mile on my own. My quads screamed with the first step, then got better as I adapted my running style to compensate.
Just glad to run again aft... read more

  14. RUN
injured Sussex Marathon 22.06 mi 02:47 07:35 pace

As you can see from the distance, an aborted marathon. Not happy.
Everything went wrong, and I even ran a mile or so that nobody on that marathon ran!

  15. RUN
great Easy run with strides around ... 3.06 mi 00:21 06:59 pace

    Superb pre-marathon loosener.

  16. RUN
great Easy run up hills in East Cowes 4.51 mi 00:32 07:11 pace

A great, easy run. I threw in a few hills just to maintain the hill-climbing technique.
Everything went well, and I did an extra half mile up steps to home to finish.

  17. RUN
great Very easy tapering run around... 4.01 mi 00:28 06:57 pace

That was most pleasant. My only concern today was that I left home a little later than intended, and didn't want to get back too late, whilst not having to put in much effort. The plan worked nicely.

  18. RUN
good Easy run around East Cowes 8.01 mi 00:54 06:46 pace

    My only problems today were:
    1. Reigning in the speed. I want to go faster, when I know I should be tapering down
    2. My cheese and pickle sandwiches together with tortilla chips I had for lunch rep... read more

  19. RUN
great Easy run around East Cowes 6.01 mi 00:42 07:01 pace

    I do like easy runs!
The first mile, as a warm-up, seemed really slow at 7:30. Once the muscles felt more relaxed, I then found it difficult to reign in the pace, as I steadied around 6:45 per mile... read more
