good Day 75: Movin' 8.37 mi 00:59 07:00 pace

My assigned workouts for today included an easy, one hour spin as well as: Steady zone 2 only. Do not deviate relax good form. Fast light feet. However, I told Coach Jeff that I really felt like pushing it a little bit, to which he said I could do my scheduled workout for Thursday, which is: Warm up then run 55 minutes at your projected Ironman race pace. So, I went out the door with that in mind.

However, as I saw during my ride, the weather, after the past four days of utter gloom had blossomed into an amazingly gorgeous day, and now evening. So as soon as I began to run, I couldn't hold my pace to my Ironman race pace (which is probably between 7:30 and 7:45 per minute), I needed to run faster. So I did!

The first mile, I took to warm up a bit at a 7:30 pace and then began to push it. My miles were as follows:

Mile 2: 7:03
Mile 3: 6:38
Mile 4: 6:50
Mile 5: 6:54
Mile 6: 7:15 (two NASTY hills here)
Mile 7: 6:52
Mile 8: 7:12 (cool down began here and went for the rest of the run)
Last .37 miles: 6:48

It hurt, but in that really good, I just put it out there, kind of way. Good times!

Wow Brandon. Incredible. I wanted to ask you, how are you feeling after 75 days in a row of running? Are your legs feeling it yet? Because it sure doesn't seem like your tiring!!

Michelle, Not tiring really. I think the key is to run easy when I have the chance. I would say that there is a greater possibility of being mentally tired than anything else.

Brian, Thanks boss! It felt good to move it!

I felt the same way, luckily Jeff gave me a workout that could set me going. When the weather starts to break, 1 hr at Zone 2 doesn't feel like a good use of the day!
