  1. RUN
alright Lake accotink loop 6.86 mi 01:02 08:59 pace

Dusted off the Hokas and shuffled around the lake. My hamstring is still tight but it was better today. Off to the physio this afternoon. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome!

  2. Just checking in. I'm taking more days off until this hamstring really is better. But I got in a four hour motorcycle ride with my daughter, so that was nice!

  3. RUN
alright Lake accotink loop 6.86 mi 01:04 09:23 pace

It's good to be out again. My calves are much improved but my right hamstring is still grabby. But I went really easy and seem to be coming along. Off to the ice bath :-(

Well, quite honestly, that's hard without a quick little eval. Are you consistent with foam rolling? If you're going to brush your teeth, you should also "brush your body." Haha.... but for real. Do you have a desk job? A lot of times tight hamstrings are actually caused by tight hip flexors from sitting (so your illlium gets pulled forward and your hamstring gets all lengthened) and then running hard.
Stretch your hip flexors. Do not over stretch your hamstrings

Stretching a strain can prevent it from healing (that would be like stretching a sprained ankle over and over into the sprained position).. Foam roller can be ok though.

tired Recovery run 0.15 mi 00:03:00 20:00 pace

I mapped this run so you guys could admire the terrain I traversed. I am going to need several days to heal up from that race. Still, I am counting this as a run :-)

At the finish. Note the obvious lack of wheels. And I look more and more like Preston B. every day. You would think we are related :-)

  7. Shared Photo

A shot from the Parks Half Marathon yesterday. Before the wheels came off. I will need to remember to shave before the next race.

Did you find the photos on line, Elizabeth? I'll bet you are in there. Go to the MCRRC web site and on the home page, scroll to the bottom. Click on the PHOTOS button. You have to search through a lot of shots, but they are free to download and the photographers did a good job.

Don't want to deny myself the miles in warming up and warming down, though the warm down was really just a very slow walk to the metro. My legs is hammered.

good Cross County Trail to Little ... 12.24 mi 01:45 08:35 pace

It was a nice day; a bit warmer. I do wish my feet would start improving and stop burning. I'm not going to stop running so they should just quit wining and get with the program.
