  1. Also, what's up with the leaderboard?? Vern has -5 miles... I KNOW that isn't true!

  2. I'll be off for a few more days with this darned hamstring, but otherwise I feel remarkably good. They say that you can only feel one pain at a time, so maybe that is the case here. Anyhow, y&... read more

good Houston Marathon! 26.2 mi 03:15 07:26 pace

Well, that was fun! It was an interesting time for the Briggs Brothers. The morning was a bit hectic and we never connected before the start, but no worries. I started right on pace with a string o... read more

Jealous about the weather. But Houston smelled a lot when I ran around there in October.

  7. RUN
great Once more to the track. 6 mi

One mile warmup with a couple of strides, 4 miles at 6:42 average, one mile warm down. Okay. So my body knows best and I need to just relax. This was as easy as I could have hoped. I started off de... read more

  8. RUN
good Neighborhood with Mikey 4.11 mi 00:32 07:49 pace

So, I guess the taper is working 'cause this didn't feel unduly fast. Maybe it was the 45 degree day with actual sunshine and stuff. I'll take it!

  9. I've been doing a lot of time on the treadmill, so I thought I'd post a quick video of my routine.

  10. RUN
good TM shuffle 4 mi 00:36 09:01 pace

It's sleeting out, so the TM it is. Just as well. It's still pretty cold out there. I feel better today, though not awesome... yet!

  11. RUN
    alright End-o-Carrliegh 3.95 mi 00:33 08:26 pace

Tapering is the pits. it should be the bee's knees, but no. Started with a cramp in my calf, then tightness in my hamstring, then a tightness in my groan, then back to another calf cramp. Oh, ... read more

  12. RUN
good TM to "Heat Aclimatize" 12 mi 01:47 08:54 pace

Very uneventful run. My Achilles felt fine but both hamstrings were annoying me. Why must we go through this every time we race? I mean, really??

  13. Hi gang. I took a couple of days off to let things settle and to eat everything in sight. The eating part is not good. I will be waddling the marathon if I don't get back on the discipline wag... read more

good Nice neighborhood jogging. 5.97 mi 00:52 08:41 pace

Even with the cold, outside is better. But still, I'd prefer a hot summer day.

  16. RUN
good TM for the New Year. 6 mi 00:58 09:35 pace

Tromped through it while watching the Broadway production of Newsies with the family. Much better than the original movie.
    Happy New Year, all!

  17. I got in 3098 miles this year. My brother Preston is only about 40 miles behind me and hasn't posted his run for the day. That is pretty incredible. Happy New Year to all!!

  18. RUN
    good TM 6 miles. 6 mi 00:56 09:15 pace

Easy goes it. Feeling fine after yesterday's effort but wasn't feeling like a jog in the snow. Taper taper.

  19. RUN
good To the track in the snow. 13.12 mi

One mile warmup with a couple of strides, 4 x 3 miles at 6:50-7:05 pace with one minute recovery, lap of walking to warm down. That's as close as I've come in a while to abandoning a work... read more

good Hilly miles with Jim 7.05 mi 01:01 08:43 pace

Joined my miler friend Jim for a run around Newington that included some of the Cross County Trail. The creeks are all freezing over, so it must be cold. Also my nose. Nice run, though.
