great Yasso 800s! 10.15 mi 01:19 07:46 pace

10x800s, the full Yasso! 3:20, 3:19, 3:20, 3:19, 3:17, 3:17, 3:15, 3:13, 3:15, 3:09! (average 3:16) This was the first time I've ever gone a full 10x 800s workout, and it was certainly mentally challenging with the extras. I've already done 5 and I still have *5* to go? I really was afraid of going out too fast in the first 6 and crashing and burning the last 4, and definitely my legs were really fatigued from the start (although, interestingly, from a CV perspective the set wasn't bad; this is probably a reflection of post-13.1 affecting my legs still, and it was pretty cool for my heart/lungs to think the set wasn't bad). Number 9 was the toughest on the legs, reflected in the drop in speed. 10 felt awesome, very tough, but great endorphin rush! Warmup/recovery/cooldown 5.15 46:15.

    My stated goal has been 3:30. I may aim 3:27-3:28, but I think 3:20 is (for now) unrealistic. (For now. Emphasized.) My body is more fast-twitch than slow-twitch, so the high end of the 5-7 minute adjustment seems most reasonable. 3:20 plus 7 = 3:27. (1:39:10 predicts 3:29 by McMillan. Again, same range.)
