Hot morning shoreline run near Manasota Key along the Gulf of Mexico. Rugged terrain in spots (had to clear a section of 10 or so large jagged boulders, w/waves a-crashing all around and underfoot...kinda cool, actually). I'm not used to running in deep and wet sand; and the beach was tilted down at a steep incline, angled toward the water. Very uneven and taxing surface...so I walked in sm sections, and stopped to clear sand out of my shoes a couple of times (wore my tri shoes, which work well wet; but they kept filling with water *and* sand and rubbing my skin raw....you know I was wishing I was a barefoot runner just about then). But the scene was magnificent. Passed ppl collecting seashells (I stopped in a few places, too) and others out running and walking. The one thing I forgot at pack? My camera, so no pics, but it was a super start to my first full day in Florida, nonetheless. Splits: 13:39, 14:42, 13:04.
