Pretty good out there this morning. I think the humidity was a bit different this morning as the chill was cutting through layers quite well. Only had to pause to break the ice dam on the balaclava :D

Decided to do something different this morning and did my hilly route.

RUN
great 8.82 km 00:45 08:07 pace
Hit the layering right and most of the time I got to run on clean dry streets! Perfect winter run if you ask me. Now to get the pace back under 5!

Nice run! Won't it be awesome if it doesn't snow again? (Dare to dream!)

Nice one Raj! I also love running early morning especially because of the clean dry streets. It's nice not to have to puddle, ice jump all the time. Imagine if the weather trend continues..

I'm just hoping for above zero mornings again to dump some layers and the belaclava.

Not a big run, but didn't have the time for a longer one this morning.

I like your pace.

@marc, that it is... especially when it's dark and everyone else is asleep. At least if were nasty cold there is the fun of adding points to one's "crazy card" :)

RUN
good 8.82 km 00:46 08:20 pace
Stretching and doing my mini running yoga sequences seem to have "destressed" this run. It felt much better than the time indicated. Streets are still a mess and the breeze was cold!

Nice Job:
Nice one Raj! Yeh, I woke up early enough this morning to run, but when I opened the door to let the dog out, I decided to weight train instead. Good for you on getting out there.

RUN
alright 8.82 km 00:46 08:23 pace
Lots of sludge out there. Still sore from this cold, but at least it's not in my lungs. There was a bit of an aurora out there to the north this morning, but not much.

RUN
good 8.84 km 00:45 08:11 pace
There was a dusting of soft snow out there making things a bit slick at times, but the temperature was nice - right around freezing. This is tropical compared to what is coming next week. I think I... read more

Way to hit a milestone! Try telling a non-runner how far you've run -- it's like running from Edmonton to, say, Las Vegas!!

RUN
good 8.85 km 00:45 08:07 pace
I thought it would be much colder, so I was almost ready for this to be a break week. But as it turns out, it was a bit frosty, but nice and dry on the streets.

Great run Raj. Do you have a cut-off for running outside? I just looked at the temps for next week, and I'm thinking Mon, Tues and Wed are going to be treadmill days for me!

RUN
great 8.81 km 00:45 08:09 pace
This time things were more or less clean on the streets other than at the middle and at the very end. Nice cool morning though.

It was nice, wasn't it? I was bracing for the worst. Not so bad after all. I think I'm getting spoiled. ; )

Thanks for the update, convinced me to head outside today, glad I did! BTW, I'll take this over -20C & snowing! I sometimes wonder how much better running-shape I'd be in if I lived in, say, California, with dry sidewalks 12 months of the year...

Sometimes I wonder the same thing - When I was in Maui, it was amazing to be able to run on the beach in the mornings and then if you wanted to run on something more solid, the coastal highways. But you get what you get and you don't get upset right?

RUN
good 8.78 km 00:46 08:26 pace
The half of the route without sun was curling ice, the other half was fine. Right at the end (about the last 750m), the wind and the rain came in. I don't think I would have ever thought that I'd b... read more

Scott, we are around 0C today, Calgary was 15C yesterday. There is something more than a bit off about this weather. As I said, I never expected to get rained on in January!

great 10.53 km 00:54 08:18 pace

RUN
great 10.48 km 00:56 08:35 pace
Run started at about -4 and then ended at +4 - that is quite the swing. To say the least I was soaked at the end of the run and cooked to boot. Not easy, but I'll sure feel good after the shower.

Awesome pace Raj! Yeah talk about weird weather, but I liked all the crunchy stuff left behind after the freezing rain; made the traction a lot better :)
