What !! Only one bottle of water !! Thats way too less bro. Please do rehydrate well. As Yogesh Rao says Drink before you are thirsty and eat before you are hungry during the rides. Couple of sips every 15 min or so is advisable. I am sure the weather wasnt that good whole day for so less consumption.

Enjoy buddy. if you are comfortable with the bike then no need to restrain on the distance part :) BTW, if you are still getting pains on hand then check saddle's horizontal position.. perhaps its tilted more towards down in the front part.

I think you have too much weight on your hands.. Bike fit may not be proper.. Check this http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/fitting.htm. Especially the saddle fore aft position. Other thing could be getting used to road bikes.

How are you holding the bike? On the hood or on the drop?
I guess you are holding too tightly or as Sampath buddy told, maybe too much of weight. Try to shift the saddle to little forward, there is a screw below the saddle, its used to adjust the saddle horizontally and vertically as well.over 2 years ago • Like

i changed the hood position a bit (i.e, i loosed the screw to the handle bar and raised the bar towards me and tightened it back ) and rode for 10 kms and seems the pressure on my palm is reduced.. thanks for the link and suggestion, it worked for me...
