  1. #dailymission I usually have in mind a big spring/summer race and a big fall race. Typically half marys or fulls, I have a small handful to choose from each season. Then, I make a decision based on... read more

Saw a big-ass barge on my run. That was interesting.

Yep - they were probably running coal. They're fun to watch.

Legs were dead today. Could the pizza, wings, beer, and late bed-time last night have had an effect? Impossible to tell. I'd like to say I feel like I am getting in better shape, but it's still a s... read more

Yep, age is a factor, but it doesn't have to be. Sounds like the Super Bowl party is a culprit in the dead feeling. I think that could kick your butt.

  4. RUN
alright 4 miles around neighborhood 4.01 mi 00:45 11:06 pace

Ran first 3/4 mile with my daughter. Trudged through another 3+ miles in the rain. Glad to have this one behind me.

  5. RUN
    alright Neighborhood 2.02 mi 00:24 11:48 pace

Nearly did a face-plant this morning. After a five-day #runstreak, it'll be good to take tomorrow off. I'm tired.

  6. #dailymission Nobody could ever accuse me of being a fashionista. I do *try* to avoid gear with egregious stains or holes.

  7. RUN
alright 3 mi toward Indian Hills 3.01 mi 00:34 11:09 pace

Serious lower GI discomfort this morning. Don't know what that's about. Miserable.

  8. RUN
alright 2 mi along river 2 mi 00:21 10:15 pace

57° outside, so hell yes, I ran in shorts. My ashy, pasty legs clomped all over downtown like two hairy sticks of chalk. It was awesome. BTW, I've now run 100 miles in my Adams.

  9. RUN
tired 2 mi along river 2 mi 00:22 10:48 pace

Had a bad headache that made each footfall a pain. My brain felt like it was flopping around in the pan. Awful. Tomorrow's another day.

  10. RUN
good 4 miles around neighborhood 4.21 mi 00:44 10:34 pace

So tired from yesterday's festivities, but I'm very grateful for the lovely day today. I ran around an old route I hadn't used in years. The change of scenery did wonders.

  11. RUN
    alright Treadmill 2 mi 00:21 10:31 pace

Decided the treadmill was slightly less awful than running in the rain when it's 45°. Yeah, I'm a wuss. Rest day tomorrow, then I think I might try a trail run on Saturday.

  12. RUN
alright 2 mi along river 2 mi 00:20 10:13 pace

Yeah, yeah, I ran. The big news is that I have arranged lodging for the 2012 Indian/Celina Challenge Half Marathon, scheduled for June 9th. We'll be camping there. You should come, too.

It does sound like fun. Wanna do a slow run down by Riverview Park on Sat? We're going to do a slow 10 miler around 9 - 9:30.

Beautiful outside. Ran to the hobo camp and back. Saw a hobo.

Boy - that has to be one tough hobo. The 'ville is probably one of the least hospitable places to be homeless. Nice run there today.

There's a small encampment right in the river by the river walk with tents and campfires and everything. About three or four guys.

Sorry about the soreness. A 70 year old friend of mine always said "halitosis is better than no breath at all." It puts feeling old in perspective. Running like an old man is better than not running.

Races do help. I only do a few, but they keep me focused. Good job for getting out there. It's a bit brisk today. We'll be running along the river later today. Are you going to be able to make the meet-up this Friday?
