      Yoga does not address the actual strengthening of core & alignment of spine, especially if you are into serious sport. It works only up to a point for recreational athletes.

      Therefore its ability to help improve strength for athletes is limited in scope as it does not focus on core muscle engagement and uses more larger superficial muscles.
