Fortunately had already decided to do this post-dawn today to get in extra miles, because predawn son was up to his sometimes-antics again. Not too bad today, up at 5:30, so I still consider it a "sleeping in" day. Did 5.6 miles to rec center, strength and core (except preacher curls, machine was being hogged), and then 4.5 miles back. Pretty steady pace throughout, a little faster going there than coming home.
This puts me at 255 miles for August, most ever in a month for me. Won't do that again this year, at least. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/46976490

Wow, speedy, even with the mid break. Is 5:30am defined by sleeping in ?? What time is the usual wake up call, or rather, when would then bedtime be??

You were booking it out there today! Couldn't wait to get to the rec center and do your workout there, I guess! Great job on the monthly mileage PR, that's a lot of speedy mile run!

Thanks all - @Badpasta, my oldest son (7) is autistic so the time he gets up varies widely - typically around 6:30 - 7:00, sometimes it's around 3:00. I'm the one who usually gets up around 4:30 to run.

Thanks all - @Becky, good choice! @Mark, I was noticing that I actually missed one on the way there. Distracted by trying to avoid a school bus.

Strength training is essential, you're going to cook it at the race! And yeah, I hear ya about the 5:30 run time. Seems my wake-up time is getting earlier and earlier the older I get. Pretty soon I'll be up at 2 AM and feel l like 3 hrs is PLENTY of sleep. Ha!
