New @brooksrunning Ghost 3's arrived yesterday. Had hoped to give them a post-dusk try-out last night but a storm blew in and washed those plans away. So I went out for a mid-afternoon run today. Color me pleased. While the plan was an "easy" run, you should know by now my mid-day "easies" are a bit different than the predawn ones, and obviously I was extra-pumped today (offset by having taken the two older boys to Burger King for lunch to celebrate their last day of camp).
I am thrilled with the shoes. Glad I got the 2E width as the toebox is definitely narrower than the Mizuno's, but I like the snug fit. I felt quieter running in them (maybe it's a mental trick because of the Ghost name). Can't wait to try them out some more at longer distances - next up is a 9-mile pace run on Saturday, most likely. These seem like an obvious keeper in the rotation, and I think the Nike's are done.

Glad to hear the Ghost are a keeper, sometimes I worry when I switch brands.

3's...holy cow I just bought the 2's! lol, Did you use the ghost 2's at all? If so how do the 3's compare? I have to say, I love my Ghost's, perfect match for my feet and running style. Great, great run today!

Thinking about the Ghost 3's myself. Currently wear Asics, but want to try something new or maybe rotate between the two brands.

@Jennifer - these are my first Brooks shoes. I tried them on a few weeks ago when I ended up buying my Mizuno Wave Rider 13's; these are a bit more cushioned and slightly heavier. @Stan, which Asics do you use? The Ghosts are definitely neutral shoes, probably closest Asics equivalent is the DS-Trainer. The Ghosts are just a bit more cushioned, though.

Nice pace for the "easy" run, Greg. Ordered 2 new pairs of shoes myself this week, the Kinvara's and Mizuno Wave Inspire 5s. Need to go pick them up. I'm excited to try them out this weekend.

Nice midday run, Greg. You'd probably like Asics Speedstars, too. Lighter than DS Trainer, and more cushioned.

i was thinking of running in the brooks ravenna. they feel a lot like the asics ds trainers. The toe box is narrow, and it runs a 1/2 size small. a light performance stability training shoe. I haven't run in a brooks since college. i would like to try mizunos sometime. I usually run in asics and nike. i love new shoes as well!!!
